Mrugendra- Story of a Long Lost Friend. Found @ Last!

If life is a long Journey, then there are many ups and down, numerous turns and also many crossroads. At one of these turn, I happened to meet this remarkable person, who became the turning point in my life. And this person was Mrugendra, whom I also used to call Swamy.
It’s been more than 7 years since we met, but the time spent in the hostel are still fresh in my mind. A phone call from him yesterday made me nostalgic and took me to the memory lane. It was an experience very similar to finding your precious thing that was lost in the sands of time. It’s been so many years but the friendship bond we share is still strong and I wish him all the best for his career and personal life.

Dream Driven by Four Wheels

There was a time when owning a four wheeler was a long cherished dream for a middle class family. The very presence of a car was a symbol of achievement and status. In other words four wheel added CHAR CHAND   and an aura of pride around the owner. Things changed in due course of time and India also entered the face lane of progress, multinational companies entered, BPO came and defied the law of nature and slowly the world started recognizing Indian talent.

And what was thought to be a life time achievement award in owning a car became the first trophy of success in the hands of the young Indians. And all the credit goes to the financier who at the drop of a hat is all set to park your  car at your doorstep and the next moment you see yourself behind the wheels with this prized possession.

I also became one of the proud owners of this prized possession, all thanks to Nanesh Finance . I am all set to experience a new sensation of driving a santro travessing my way through the heavy traffic, changing gears… well let me feel the sensation but be equanmous.

Pranab Chatterjee- the barking lover

It’s been long time, I got in touch with a long lost friend Pranab. His call to my mobile brought back my nostalgic days  and took me to the memory lane, where those timeless moments are still fresh.

This was one person who had the inborn God’s gift to woo girls by barking like a Dog and such was the precision and the similarity that even the dogs used to make way when he used to pass his lover’s way.

Jokes apart! he is a nice fellow with a great sense of humour.

Captured Moments at Kuntalla Falls

The marathon of Indian festival has started with Ganesh puja and the air is filling up with excitement, happiness and non-stop celebration. Mother nature is in full bloom and has very beautifully drapped herself in a bright green new sari , thus making the whole environment alluring, youthful and fresh. From the dense forests to the green mountains covered by a blanket of green trees to the deep blue sky, everything element of nature seems to be in the mood of celebration. Look at the smiling deep blue sky, the vigoursly flowing white streams of waterfall making a loud splash on the rocks as if playing with nature. Nature is so beautiful, so serene and so inspiring. No wonder it has always been a source of salvation, an abode of meditation, a place of self-discovery and a way to see life from a new perspective. Here are some of the beautful moments captured in the midst of nature, in nature and with nature at Kuntalla falls. Hope you will enjoy it

Food for Thoughts

J ai Ganesha:

Ganesha the cute, little elephant God marks the start of the marathon of the Indian festival. A marathon, perhaps the biggest and largest marathon on the planet which involves everyone to participate and celebrate till it reaches the destination.Festivals are an integral part of the Indian culture and the beginning of any festival in India starts with agriculture. Agriculture was the first culture of human civilization.

Indian culture encompasses hundreds of gods and goddess, but without any second thought Ganesha can unanimously be called the favorite for the simple reason that he is too cute to be called a God. That’s why one can also find Ganesha even in non hindoos community. To have an elephant god at home you don’t need to be a hindoo. No wonder you don’t to be a Japanese to keep a laughing Buddha.

Wisdom Vs Education

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Steven Spielberg, Azim Premji, Bill Gates, and many others were not formally educated .They received their education through the university of experience and got their degrees and certificates from the hands of hard work, determination , perseverance and positive attitude. The true meaning and essence of education is to liberate man from the bondages of ignorance, exploitation, hypocrisy, weakness, selfishness. The purpose of education is not just to produce Doctors, Engineers, Managers and other professionals but to create such professionals who can justify and pour passion and love for their job. This is only possible if an environment is created where people have the choice, guidance and an opportunity to decide their career rather than just fame, money and respect that lures an individual towards a high profile career. A career should never be made on the parameters of only money, fame or on the richness of a high prospect or growth. A career should me made on the parameters of passion, interest, honesty and love.

Trust me! You would then enjoy getting drenched in the showers of your sweat from the work.

Freedom

There came an October in 1869, when a simple incident in a town called Porbander, changed the nation forever.

A child was born.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would go on to make a history, rewrite geography and inspire philosophy among many other things.

Today however, Gandhi is fast becoming nothing more than a word that follows Mahatma. Even while it could be and should be the conscience of the world’s largest democracy.

For it is in the India of today that he is more relevant than ever before. Come to think of it, he invited the cure to Naxalism, Ram Sethu, Godhra, Kashmir and every other ailment that’s holding us back from realizing our destiny, more than half a century ago.

We need another October like that one in 1869.

A SECOND OCTOBER

Will it be this one- the October of 2007?

When we listen once more to a voice long lost in the rat race of the weekly targets, our monthly EMIs and our annual dividends?

On August 15th this year, we set out on the lead India journey. Armed with a will, a way, and not much more. Humbly immolating what one of our countrymen had done many decades ago.

And very much like what happened then, when we paused to look to look back midway through our journey most of the country behind us. Living, breathing proof that India still believed in India.

Today, a few chosen ones from that multitude have turned out to be leaders disguised as followers.

They formed the first shortlist of lead Indians. A bunch of tough, unflinching, young Indians, who can look destiny in the eye or a cynic in the face without blinking.

While all you need to do is look into the mirror and ask one simple question.

If history can repeat itself why can’t we have a second October?

A COUNTRY LIFE

It’s been a long time my legs have not touched the soft soil of the village.

Its aching walking down the concrete road with the soul underneath craving for salvation.

My ears are dying to hear the melodious music of the cow bells, the folk song of the vagabond, wild call of the cuckoo bird.

For I am tired of hearing the noise of this concrete jungle.

The ear- piercing horn of the buses the shouting of the  people to get a foot on the footboard, the screeching of brakes the disturbing tone  of the mobile. And they call it as a caller tune.

The definition has changed with the changing times.

How my eyes have long been waiting to see a glimpse of those uncountable stars scattered as sparkling diamonds on the black canvas of the sky. How I wish night as speechless as silence speaks a thousand words.

In this dark night where sparkle of stars has been stolen by the dark blanket of polluted night, where the city is still alive in pubs, hotels and even houses.

A WILD CALL

Where is that dawn that uses to come and peep through the window of my heart with the first ray of sunshine?

Falling on my face it used to raise the curtain of my life.

A new life, a new dawn, a new day, a new experience.

An experience of enjoying the chirping songs of the cuckoo bird, a feast to the ears.

The mesmerizing sight of birds flying towards a destination unknown against the beautiful background of the crimson color of the sunrise.

I am once again tempted to fly like there care free bird in the blue sky of my imagination.

New Year

Again a New Year

A new resolution and new promises

New dreams and new desires

And not to forget new hopes and new inspiration

A fresh start to a new journey

A Journey towards reaching a new destination

A destination towards meeting deadlines, targets and expectations

A journey towards a new success, a new achievement

A new success of position, money and power

A never stopping journey towards stress, strain and success

A journey of trees being replaced by concrete jungle

A journey of never ending fight between animals of the same species

A journey where we call these species as intelligent humans

A journey where we never find time to enjoy our very own steps

A journey where we never have time to peep in to our own soul

A journey where we always have time to peep in to our success

A journey where we hardly knew how the old year passed away

Let’s pray together that this journey bring equanimity, love, peace and happiness.

Cinema: An art fading in the light of glamour

If one would analyze Indian cinema in the last two years we will come to know that only a few films has been truly successful in justifying the true meaning of cinema. Cinema, that was able to deliver a message in an entertaining and convincing manner, giving a realistic look and feel to not only the characters but the film as a whole. No wonder, this category of film-making requires unwavering passion, strong dedication and tremendous patience.

Film like Rang De Basanti took almost four years to write the script. Another half a year took to find and convince the producer/financier to produce this movie. Each and every scenes, dialogues and screenplay were meticulously crafted to give the perfect shape. People were able to relate themselves to the character and what could be a better proof than this for the success of the film.
